My wife and I had the opportunity to work with Nick Swinburne in the purchase of our Whistler condo. We could not have been more pleased with the process and outcome. What made our purchase unique was that we live in Toronto which is 3500km away from Whistler and we did not have the luxury of time to fly out and view each unit that interested us. As such, we had to place our complete trust in Nick.

Not only did he have to serve the daily duties that occupy a normal property search and sale; he had the heavy responsibility of finding and securing us a 2nd home that would fit our needs and budget; all without us actually viewing it in person.
Nick saw this through with high marks. Here are some key points that I thought truly stood out:

1 - Ensured he knew exactly what we wanted and expected. Not only for the present but for the future.
2 - He assessed all properties in a balanced and emotionally unattached manner; providing us clarity in what can be a very emotional purchase.
3 - Knows the Whistler market well, both from a statistical and from an on-the-ground perspective.
4 - He was patient; not only with us but with the market. On a number of occasions he recommended "not to buy this property; it is not for you. The one you want is still to come" (we are grateful for this as I look back on some of the units we had considered).
5 - Responsive. Quick to answer all my questions via email or phone. We had a number of them as he was our eyes/ears and no matter the time or time difference he was immediate in response.
6 - On all properties we considered; he would take numerous photos and post our viewings online. Nick would then always follow up with complete and unbiased assessment of his walk through.
7 - Always ensured we were versed in and understood all pros and cons of properties.
8 - Made remote completion of all necessary documentation for offers and completion easy and understandable via the Internet.
9 - Continued to follow up post sale to ensure all aspects met to our satisfaction. I had a couple loose ends (on my side) that he offered to help close off (and did so).
10 - He undertook the entire process with a cheerful, professional and pleasant demeanour.

Ultimately, I can wrap it up by saying that it always felt that Nick was serving our interests first. Never did we feel rushed or that he wanted to make a sale.
We've purchased a number of properties and I can say with certainty that this was the best experience we have had. It had large risk with it being a remote sale and he pulled it off.
