The word is out that Whistler is a four seasons resort; a #1 voted ski destination, a world class downhill bike-park, 5 star restaurants, shopping and accommodation. With the vaccine roll out and borders still to open, I feel this market will only be moving upwards for the foreseeable future.

Whistler Market Update June 8th:

Though we are seeing a slower market from March’s all time market height in activity we are still seeing a sign of accelerating house prices due to strained housing supply. On top of this, people are opting into their option of lending as money is cheap right now. May still saw a 40% increase in sales compared to slower April where we had tighter travel restrictions. As local and regional vaccinations ramp up, we are expecting to see a summer that is as busy, if not more busy than last summer.  The word is out that Whistler is a four seasons resort; a #1 voted ski destination, a world class downhill bike-park, 5 star restaurants, shopping and accommodation, I feel this market will only be moving upwards for the foreseeable future.

Whistler market update: Starting today, June 1st,  Canadian homebuyers will face tougher mortgage stress test rules. This in result will decrease the buying power of most borrowers. This was put in place as a response to an overheated market that has already seen signs of cooling since its height last month. It is predicted to affect about 25% of the buyers in the market, so though we will see an impact from this it should not be affecting Whistler. Most of the impacted areas will have more first time home buyers than we see in Whistler.

Whistler Real Estate Update for the week of May 12th to May 18th. During this time period, we have seen a steady continuation of a hot market. Single-family homes continue to be a hot commodity as everyone is trying to lock in their Whistler Cabin. Whistler Real Estate keeps moving, but with a lack of inventory, it is a constant challenge for buyers. With Summer right around the corner, even though we woke up to snow this morning, we are hoping to welcome guests back to the resort to enjoy everything Whistler has to offer.

Whistler Real Estate Market Update for the week of May 5th to May 11th. An ongoing housing supply shortage in Whistler is likely to continue, presenting challenges for home buyers and putting upward pressure on prices. Due to these factors and continued historically low interest rates, 2021 will likely continue to see pent up demand. These factors will continue to fuel the seller’s market for the foreseeable future. We have been seeing most properties sell with multiple offers. It is very important to choose wisely when searching for a Real Estate Agent within these conditions. We make sure all of our clients are best set up for success.

Whistler Real Estate Weekly Market Update this week only has 15 new listings and 36 sold properties. As the inventory remains lower than the sales we will continue to see an upswing in sale prices. Many properties are seeing directional offers putting pressure on the buyers. With more sales than new properties to market I foresee this continuing for the indefinite future.

They will be starting to roll out another phase. As well as very few chalets and single family homes on the market we are seeing a ripple down to larger townhomes and condos being sold.

This weeks market update for Whistler:

At the current time, the number of active listings in Whistler is lower than at the end of 2020. We expect demand to remain very strong because of low interest rates and very high level of available capital. Once travel restrictions and short-term health concerns resolve we can expect even higher levels of interest. Market trends favoring sellers are expected to continue through the summer.
